WHO IS DIN?

*

Din E. Tolbert has more than a way with words. He has a guiding purpose for them—

to encourage hearers toward excellence and authenticity, despite the pressures of our data-saturated, hyper-social world. His father, who he lost at age 14, modeled the importance of deep conversation. Din’s early memories of sitting on the stoop with his dad in Brooklyn, watching as people came by to talk, shaped his approach to dialogue today. His father’s wisdom laid the foundation for the open, honest spaces that Din creates—spaces where words matter and connections run deep.

Through deep conversation, Din facilitates exploratory work, acting as an intermediary for “speakers, hearers, and doers”—distinct types of problem-solvers with unique perspectives, starting points, and skill sets. Whether speaking to a corporate team, mentoring young adults, or delivering a keynote, Din’s heart is in every word, drawing from the spirit of those early conversations.

THE POWER OF WORDS

Since honing his communication skills and scholarship at Cornell University and Union Theological Seminary, Din has worked across multiple industries, including academia, professional sports, non-profit, and insurance. In each setting, he brings a unique ability to connect head and heart, transforming complex ideas into digestible stories that clarify goals and push for deeper inner work.

Through his keynotes, workshops, and poetry, Din creates disarmingly open and brave spaces, where audiences are empowered to ask deeper questions and move beyond surface conversations.

WHY DEEP CONVERSATION?

For Din, words are more than just sounds. He believes that conversations—whether on a panel, in the classroom, or through performance—can change lives. His work is about creating pathways for real understanding, digging deep to uncover the truths that push people toward growth.

Din’s approach to storytelling invites listeners into this space where questions aren’t just asked—they’re explored in ways that reveal more than we expect.

IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, AND THE WORD WAS GOD.
